New Catalogue Time!!!

Well, it's been a bit exciting in the Stampin' Up! world this year!! We started the year with the huge clearnace racks and then the sale-a-bration promotion commenced January 22nd. Today the new seasonal catalogue is being released!! You can view it online now!!

There's so much great stuff in this new catalogue!! It's pretty hard to just choose one, but i'd say my favourite item so far is the Artisan Embellishment set!! It's such a great set if you are a scrapbooker - and matches the Artisan Patterned Papers so perfectly!!

I love it so much that this is what this month's 'Kit Scrap' classes are based on!! All of my Valentine's classes have elements of the Artisan range too :D

Keep an eye on my blog over the new few weeks for more sneaks of the new catalogue including samples that i've made!!

Remember that whenever you place an order with me right now you will get a free gift for every $100 you spend - you can choose from lots of different stamp sets, punches, patterned paper and even some of the regular range items!!

The Rainbow Twirl Dress

If you've been visiting my facebook page lately, you would have noticed my new favourite creation - the rainbow twirl dress!!

Isn't it amazing? Here's my (small!!) 18 month old trying it out:

I can assure you that she just LOVES it!!!

This dress is a Boo! Designs pattern which she has graciously allowed to be reproduced by small businesses :D

The torso section is elasticated (shirred, for anyone who wants to get technical!!!) and the straps are tie up straps, so it will grow with your child!!

The dress comes in 2 sizes - small (1-5) and large (4-8). It starts out ankle length and will end up knee length, for years of twirling fun!!!

Fabrics may vary from dress to dress, but it will always be a rainbow of colours. You may request it to have the red or blue end of the spectrum at the top. If you would prefer a monochromatic dress, e.g. Different shades/prints of purple this may also be requested in your order.

Small size is $45 and large is $55. Current lead time is 3 weeks and pickup is from Springfield or I can post anywhere in Australia for $7.85.

New Year, New Direction

Well, welcome to 2013!! I know i'm a couple of weeks late, but i've been trying to sort out what direction i want Olive Roses Creations to take this year!

I've decided that i will no longer be taking on any formal wear alterations as i'd like to concentrate on special orders, in particular children's clothing!! My children's clothing is now being sold at the popular facebook page "Joey's Corner", as well as the "Olive Roses Creations" facebook page :D I will still be doing basic alterations, like basic hems and zipper replacements.

As far as classes go, i'll be concentrating on 3 main classes each month, with extras popping up when special events (like Valentine's day) come along. These three classes are:

Kit Scrap - $25 per class including all products needed to create 2 12"x12" in class, with lots of extra's to take home! Products will be from coordinating ranges in the Stampin' Up! catalogues, in particular the 'Simply Scrapin' Kits' which you can find on pages 166-168 in the main catalogue.

Here is a sneak of the February Kit Scrap class - using some of the lovely new papers and embellishments that are being released in the new seasonal catalogue on Feb 1st!!

Stamp-a-stack - $15 per class (redeemable for product on the day) including everything you need to make approx. 10 cards. The idea is that you make several of the one design so you always have cards on hand!

Here's a look at the January stamp-a-stack class - which you still have a chance to join in on because it got postponed to Thursday 31st January :D

Sew like a pro - This is a new class starting in Feb! These classes will be fortnightly and starting right from the beginning with machine sewing!! I'm very excited about these classes, as it's really such a dying skill that can be so useful to you and your family. Imagine being able to take up and let down your kids pants and get an extra season out of clothing!!! Or make something special for a friend/family member for birthdays and Christmas!!

These classes will be following the skill level of the attendees. It will start teaching basics and then lead into more complicated skills through project based classes.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the 'timetable' tab, plus some new exciting tabs will be popping up in the near future!!

I can have your goodies delivered directly to you if you would like!! Or i can get them delivered here and then get them to you :D

First up, i thought i'd address your Christmas card needs!!! For some quick and easy photo insert cards you can go for the "Noel Notes Simply Sent" kit:

This kit is $23.95 and is enough to make 8 photo cards - including the cards, card liners, envelopes and envelop liners - plus some taffeta ribbon!! Page 17 of the holiday catalogue.

If you'd like to make some hand-made cards, why don't you join me at my house in Springfield for a Christmas stamp-a-stack workshop - $15 for all the materials you need to make around 10 cards plus some tags!! The last workshop i have is Saturday 15th December from 2pm.

Beginner and experienced scrappers alike would love a "Simply Scrappin' Kit" from Stampin' Up! for Christmas!!

December is upon us!!

Well, December is upon us and hasn't 2012 flown by!!! Escape the stress, by joining me for a class. I'm only doing papercraft classes this month as there is so much to do with Christmas upon us!! Here's the timetable for December, and you can get more information by clicking on the 'home classes' tab up the top.

Our '25 Days of Christmas' mini album class series started last night, and we had so much fun!! We have a lovely bunch of ladies working on this album, and there is still enough supplies for 1 more person, if you'd still like to join us - i can arrange a separate class to catch you up on what you have missed :D I've been busy working on next week's class today and it's looking fab - i'm so excited!!

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

I've added a new class to the calendar this month, and i think it's going to excite you!!! Stampin' Up! have a fabulous range of scrapbooking kits called 'Simply Scrappin' Kits' (pages 167-8 in the catalogue) and i'd love to walk you through them!! I'll be selecting 1 kit each month and creating lovely layouts based on these kits!!! I couldn't resist starting with the "Pinwheels on Parade" kit this month as it's just such a lovely kit, with elements such as pinwheels, banners and artisan tags, which are just a few of my favourite things in scrapbooking right now!!

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

You can choose from the 'budget' kit, which is $20 and is a half kit, or the 'spare no expense' kit, which is the whole kit and $40 for the class - i will be teaching both classes at the same time and there will be enough to create what i show you in class from both kits, but the 'spare no expense' kit will give you more leftovers to play with when you get home :D

If you'd like to join me for this class (Monday 17th Dec 7:30-10pm) you'll need to let me know by 10th Dec AT THE LATEST so that i can order enough for the class!!

Enjoy perusing the timetable and deciding which class you want to do - or book in for all of them!!

25 Days of Christmas Mini Album Classes

Hello to my lovely crafty friends!!

Have you ever wanted to do a '25 days of Christmas' mini album and just didn't know where to start, or have you started one and not finished it, so therefore you don't want to start another?

This year i'm going to be running a series of workshops to put together a '25 days of Christmas' mini album. I've done one the last 2 years, and it's a fabulous keepsake, especially capturing all the little things that the kids say and do and traditions that you are developing in your family.
The workshops would be in my Springfield home at the same time once a week from the last week in November to the first week in January (excluding the week of Christmas), so we can start the album early and put the finishing touches on it in Jan!! I'm thinking a weeknight might be good.
The total cost is $100, and a $50 deposit would be required to book so i can go ahead and order some things straight away. I'm going to do it, regardless of how many people i get interested, but the more people i have, the better the class will be. So, if you're keen get some friends along too - that way you'll get more split between you all to play with!! All materials will be provided for this price and it will be over 5 classes. If you miss a class, or can't make it to the classes at all - even if you're interstate - i can send you the class instructions weekly via email :D You'll just have to pay about $10 extra for postage.
I'll be using the new Sn@p! albums which you can choose the colour of - Brown, Green or Orange. I'll have to order them pretty soon to make sure i have them all for the workshops though. I think Brown will work best with what i have in mind, so that's what i'll be ordering for myself :D
You can see an example of my album from last year in this online album, but this years one will be a bit different, with the divided pocket pages - and the album it comes in will make it much more finished too :D
I really hope to get this one going, and i'd like to order the albums this week if possible. I'll also set up a private facebook page for the members of the class so we can keep contact with each other and i can give you extra little hints as we go along!!
If you are keen for this class, drop me a line at kylie.smith@me.com and i'll get you started with this awesome and very exciting project!!!
